Unlimited Vacation Club Celebrates 3rd Anniversary

This week, Unlimited Vacation Club by AMResorts (UVC) will celebrate its 3 year anniversary. From the time that the vacation club was introduced by AMResorts in 2010, UVC has provided “exceptional privileges at extraordinary resorts” across Mexico and the Caribbean.

The rapidly growing vacation club offers luxury resort accommodations at over 30 properties and is working to expand its network.

Classic Holidays’ Gail O’Neill Nominated for Award

Gail O’Neill of Classic Holidays has been nominated for the 2013 Gold Coast Women in Business Award.

Gail was nominated for her work with the Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce, where she served for 10 years as the Chamber Executive on the Southern Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce, before moving to her current position as Chair in 2010. Additional contributions include two years as VP of the Gold Coast Combined Chamber of Commerce and a board member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the Queensland regional board.

Classic Holidays Chief Operating Officer, Carole Smith says, “Classic Holidays is proud to call Gail one of our own; her enthusiasm and involvement in bettering the Southern Gold Coast business community, and the tourism industry in general, is remarkable.”

Gail has worked for many years as the Manager of Classic’s Beach House Seaside Resort timeshare and helped with the event Cooly Rocks on Festival. The Cooly Festival is held annually in Coolangatta and has quickly become the most popular event in town, for both locals and tourists.

DVC Offers New Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

On October 23rd, Disney Vacation Club (DVC) opened the doors to its most recent addition, the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

Depending on room selection, the units can accommodate 5-12 guests to offer more flexibility to groups. The grand villas provide the most unique features including a farm house sink, granite countertops, and a media room with surround sound speakers.

“The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is yet another example of how we are listening and responding to our members, says Ken Potrock, Senior Vice President and General Manager of DVC. Potrock, joined by Minnie & Mickey Mouse, took part in the ribbon cutting ceremony that marked the opening of the villas to the public. The new Disney timeshare villas combine the grace and elegance of the Victorian era with the latest in modern amenities. Located on the Seven Seas Lagoon, the new villas are the picturesque site for any Disney Vacation, as they sit directly across from Magic Kingdom and Cinderella’s Castle.

Even adults can enjoy the new villas as the Grand Floridian hosts some of the best dining options on property, including the AAA Five Diamond award winning Victoria and Albert’s restaurant. This dining location also features a 4,200 bottle wine cellar with a selection of over 700 wines. The resort is also home to a world-class spa and three Arnold Palmer golf courses.

Disney Vacation Club

Disney Vacation Club opened its doors in 1991, with its first resort – Old Key West. Since then, the timeshare resort brand has grown to include 12 different properties, including those at the Walt Disney World Resort, Hawaii, and South Carolina. DVC members use a points-based membership program and can travel to any DVC resort, the Disney Cruise Line, or 500 affiliated resorts around the world.

DAE South Africa Announces Partnership with GATS Leisure

Last week DAE announced that its South Africa division will partner with GATS Leisure to add more travel benefits for its Gold Advantage members.

DAE’s Gold Advantage program was recently added to provide extra travel opportunities to DAE South Africa members. Through DAE’s partnership with GATS Leisure, not only will members be able to enjoy the perks of Gold Advantage, but they will receive discounts on train tours, boat excursions, hotel accommodations, and more.

Paul Edkins, Director of the DAE South Africa Business unit, says, “DAE South Africa is proud to open up a world of touring options by partnering with GATS Leisure, […] we would like to welcome GATS as one of our trading partners for the Gold Advantage benefits package.”

Holiday Autos and the Orion Group spas have also recently signed onboard with DAE South Africa. Holiday Autos provides discounts on premium rental cars and reservations, with over 5,000 locations. DAE members in South Africa can now enjoy these benefits through the Gold Advantage program. The Orion Group currently owns and operates 13 properties in South Africa. Each property features spas which offer discounts on massages and services to DAE members.
