Sell My Timeshare NOW Shares Disappointment Over Closing of Natalee Holloway Case But Search Continues

Sell My Timeshare NOW Shares Disappointment Over Closing of Natalee Holloway Case But Search Continues

If you read the Timeshare Owners Blog on Monday, December 17, or saw our press release, “Sell My Timeshare NOW Lending a Hand in Efforts to Bring Natalee Holloway Home” then you know we are pleased to assist in even a small way with the search efforts in the case of missing Alabama teen, Natalee Holloway. And if you have followed the news since then, you are sadly aware that Aruban authorities have made the decision to close the investigation, officially moving the search for Natalee Holloway from an active investigation to a cold case.

This does not mean, however, that the search efforts of Texas EquuSearch come abruptly to an end. This search will continue. As the Texas EquuSearch team has stated, “Regardless, this announcement WILL NOT affect the search by the Persistence (the boat conducting the search). This announcement comes the day before the search team will begin the side scan sonar survey of the newly-mapped area.”

Not only does this search continue, but other private searches in the future will be conducted as long as the family and other concerned parties push to make them happen, and as necessary, underwrite the costs.

According to the Associated Press, “Prosecutors said the case could still be reopened if “serious” new evidence emerges. The statute of limitations is six years for involuntary manslaughter and 12 for homicide.”

Natalee’s family and friends deserve closure in this case. The person or persons responsible for her disappearance should be punished. Aruban tourism officials have complained that the people of Aruba, who earn their livelihood through tourism related services, are also paying a high price for the black mark this tragedy has left on the beautiful resort destination of Aruba. And the citizens of Aruba deserve the peace of mind of knowing that the criminal or criminals behind this act are behind bars.

Everyone loses when this case is not solved, but no part of this loss is as great as the loss of a bright and shining young woman, who should have had everything in life still ahead of her.

Sell My Timeshare NOW Lends a Hand in a Small Way in Natalee Holloway Case

There are so many reasons to need a timeshare, but some are all together more important than are others.

Natalee Holloway

This weekend, members of Texas EquuSearch Mounted Search and Recovery Team arrived in Aruba with the mission “to bring Natalee home”. Natalee, as you will remember is Alabama teenager, Natalee Holloway who disappeared while on a high school graduation trip to Aruba on May 30, 2005.

Aruban authorities are saying they will close the missing persons case at the end of December if there is no further evidence to link suspects in the case to Natalee’s disappearance. The ongoing effort to find Natalee, or clues related to her disappearance, must be ramped up, and everything possible done at this time.

John Q. Kelly, attorney for the Holloway family, says there is strong circumstantial evidence to link the three suspects in the case, but without something new, this case will be closed in a matter of days. This link, to www.blogsfornatalee.com will take you to CBS NEWs reporter, Julie Chen’s December 10 interview with Kelly.

I don’t have to tell you to imagine if this was your daughter, your sister, your friend…we’ve all had this thought already. I can’t personally go and help in the search for Natalee, and if I could, I would only be an eager, but untrained member of the search effort. But we at Sell My Timeshare NOW can help by providing a two-bedroom timeshare unit at the Marriott Aruba Ocean Club for the highly skilled, well-trained members of Texas EquuSearch Mounted Search and Recovery Team who are there now. A comfortable place to sleep and a hot shower at night will help keep the search members fortified and focused on their grave task.

Texas EquuSearch and Underwater Expedition are conducting a deep-water search off the Aruban coast, with the equipment and vessel provided by John Silvetti and the Silvetti Group.

In upcoming blogs, I will be sharing more with you about the Natalee Holloway case and about the incredible men and women of Texas EquuSearch , but for now let me close by saying that I am humbly grateful to be able to assist in this small way.

The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Sell My Timeshare NOW are with Natalee’s family and with the search team.

Hurricane Updates for Owners of Caribbean Timeshares

Hurricane Updates for Owners of Caribbean Timeshares

As Central America and Mexico brace for Hurricane Felix, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone for their personal safety and the protection of their property.

Thousands of people in Honduras and Nicaragua were ordered to leave as Felix approached and told to seek higher ground further away from the storm’s path. Residents and tourists on the islands of Roatan and Guanaja—popular dive destinations—were evacuated by boat and plane in anticipation of both catastrophic winds and flooding.

According to the New York Times, some of the most vulnerable people in the hurricane’s path are the Miskito Indians along the remote Nicaraguan-Honduran border. Primarily living in small wooden houses, the Miskito’s are facing Felix at its worst, with little means to protect themselves.

Throughout Central America, Hurricane Felix brings to mind horrific memories of 1998, when Hurricane Mitch, also a Category 5, left a swath of destruction in much of the same area, killing between 9000 and 11,000 people and leaving as many more missing and presumed dead. The flooding and mudslides that followed Mitch destroyed some villages in entirety, leaving no one alive in its path.

As always, we will try to keep you apprised of property damage as it relates to timeshare owners and others with interests in timeshare resorts.

While the popular timeshare vacation destinations in Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao were under a hurricane watch as Felix passed over them Labor Day weekend, neither Curacao nor Bonaire reported serious damages according to the Cayman Net News. There was however, street flooding and downed trees in Curacao. Despite its massive force, hurricane force winds extended only 15 miles and tropical winds only 115 miles as Felix passed over the southern Caribbean, meaning that both Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles experienced only gusty conditions.

Bonaire’s Lt. Governor, Herbert Domacasse said, “The local population and visitors remained in their homes and hotels overnight. No calls were received on the emergency line set up in preparation for the storm.” Opportunities for Helping OthersWith many areas still recovering from Hurricane Dean, thousands of people need your help. Divi Resorts “Focus” on their Guests

Divi Resorts “Focus” on their Guests

Bonaire Resort adds underwater photography shop for their timeshare guests.

As many of us are digging out from under late winter snowfalls, or donning that extra sweater to offset the chill, I can’t think of a better time to bring up the subject of the Divi Caribbean Resorts. With nine vacation ownership properties in Aruba, Bonaire, Cayman Brac, St. Maarten, Barbados, and St. Croix, there is bound to be a beach chair waiting for you.

Many of the Divi Resorts offer amenities that include full service spas, golf courses, casinos for gaming, and of course some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Recognizing that most of us cannot afford the cost or commitment of owning a private beach home in this desirable part of the world, the Divi Resorts began offering vacation ownership options nearly 40 years ago.

And in case you somehow manage to get your fill of lounging by the pool, sipping tall cool drinks, or beach combing along miles and miles of white sand or pink shell beaches, the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino in Bonaire is adding a new guest service. Capture Photo, a full-service underwater photography shop, opens this month, on property at the Netherlands, Antilles resort.

The shop’s staff will include experienced underwater photographers and master divers, ready to assist resort guests, visitors, and local islanders with all realm of underwater photography needs including equipment, services, and instruction.

You don’t have to be an experienced diver to enjoy underwater exploration of the Caribbean. There are numerous locations for joining up with a beginner dive program, as well as some programs just for snorkeling. But if you do have previous dive experience, you might be interested in exploring some of the numerous shipwrecks scattered throughout the islands.

The island of Curacao lies roughly thirty miles west of Bonaire. In 1977, a ship known as Superior Producer set out from the Santa Anna Bay in Willemstad, Curacao, loaded or perhaps overloaded with Christmas merchandise bound for Venezuela. With too much cargo on board, a shift in the load caused the Superior Producer to immediately commence taking on water. She began to sink in only 100 feet of water.

Unable to save her, the rescue team simply towed the ship away from the navigational channel, and allowed her to settle to the bottom of the sea. The Superior Producer is a favorite among wreck divers because she sank on an even keel, making her easy to explore. If you are interested, I found some amateur underwater video of the shipwreck on YouTube.

The Divi Resort at Bonaire would be an excellent destination for anyone interested in exploring Superior Producer first hand. Divi Resorts are a member of the RCI exchange. You can search for Divi timeshare resales and timeshare rentals at Sell My Timeshare NOW.
