This is another great example of how the relationship between Disney and RCI benefits members and guests with exciting new vacation options.”

Disney Vacation Club Renews RCI Affiliation Agreement

Disney Vacation Club Renews RCI Affiliation Agreement

The Disney Vacation Club has officially renewed their multi-year contact with the timeshare exchange company RCI.

As the largest timeshare exchange company in the world, RCI is affiliated with over 4,500 resorts including the 12 DVC timeshares. Through their affiliation agreement, Disney Vacation Club members will have access to these resorts. DVC members can simply enroll in RCI to exchange, bank, and separate weeks.

In return, RCI’s 4.7 million members will also be able to travel within the DVC resort network.

President, RCI, Gordon Gurnik said, “We are proud to renew our affiliation with Disney Vacation Club, one of the best-loved hospitality brands in the world. The high-quality properties that are a part of this internationally recognized vacation-ownership program carry the signature Disney experience that has perpetually captured the hearts of visitors. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the brand, as we both work to bring new and innovative services to the industry.”

Soon, another resort will be added to the list of Disney Vacation Club timeshares. DVC recently announced plans to expand Disney’s Polynesian Resort to include a vacation ownership segment. Located on Disney’s Seven Seas Lagoon, the new timeshare development will be a great edition to Disney’s “monorail” resorts. The other two resorts that surround the lagoon—Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Contemporary Resort—already have timeshare units available for DVC members.

Senior VP and General Manager, DVC said, “Our renewed affiliation with RCI provides our Members with more choice, expanded access and improved flexibility. We want our Members to enjoy vacations when they want, how they want and where they want. The exchange options available through RCI are an important part of this commitment, giving families even more opportunities to have fun together, see the world and make lifelong magical memories.”

Over the next year, TheTimeshareAuthority.com will feature all news regarding the DVC expansion to Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Check back for updates.

Disney Vacation Club Introduces New “Membership Magic”

Disney Vacation Club Introduces New “Membership Magic”

Disney Vacation Club TimeshareThe Disney Vacation Club (DVC) has officially launched its new Membership Magic program for timeshare owners. The new program will enhance membership, vacations, and overall experience for DVC timeshare owners. Members will also see special discounts for dining and entertainment options during their Disney Vacation Club trip.

One of the most anticipated promotions will include the option to purchase a Disney Park Annual Pass at a highly discounted rate. Now through April 30, 2014 members can purchase the Disneyland Resort Deluxe Pass, the Walt Disney World Premium Pass, and the Disney Premiere Passport at a special rate available only to members.

Senior VP and General Manager of DVC Ken Potrock shared, “With Membership Magic, we are giving families even more to love about Disney Vacation Club. We are introducing great new perks, exclusive experiences and other service enhancements that only members and their guests can access. It’s our special way of thanking our members for being such a valued part of the Disney Vacation Club family.”

In March, the Disney Vacation Club will also provide the option to trade with RCI, the world’s largest exchange company. As some RCI options will require fewer points, this will be a great option for members with smaller points packages.

Below are just some of the Membership Magic experiences planned for 2014:

Adventures by Disney

Two new experiences will be added to the Adventures by Disney Program: a NYC adventure and a journey through San Francisco and Napa Valley. Adventures by Disney provides guided vacations to DVC members through some of the most popular—and unexpected— travel destinations. Other destinations include: Australia, China, Egypt, Europe, and Costa Rica. Disney Vacation Club Members can use their DVC points to book a trip with Adventures by Disney.

Disney Cruise Line

In August 2014, the first summertime Member Cruise will embark on the Disney Dream. Sailing from Port Canaveral in Florida, this 5 day, 4 night journey is exclusive to DVC members and their families.

Great Moments with Walt Disney

Great Moments with Walt Disney will feature a complimentary tour, exclusive to DVC members. The tour will bring historic moments and footage to five cities across the U.S. This year’s tour will be hosted by Disney Files editor Ryan March Disney historian Tim O’Day.

DVC Member Bowling Night

Weekly bowling events will be available for DVC owners at Downtown Disney’s Splitsville Luxury Lanes.

Additional magical experiences will be added throughout 2014. DVC owners can expect to see new opportunities while visit Disneyland California, Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, and more.

Aulani Standard Hotel Rooms Now Available to DVC Members

Aulani Standard Hotel Rooms Now Available to DVC Members

Aulani DVCDVC owners now have the option to book Aulani hotel rooms (non-timeshare units) with their 2014 points.

When the 2015 DVC points chart was released it had been announced that a select number of “standard-view” hotel rooms would be available to Disney Vacation Club members, though it was not released when this would happen.

These units are now available to members and can be booked as early as February 1, 2014.
Before, the resort was divided between Aulani, Disney’s Vacation Club Villas and Aulani’s standard hotel rooms. Now that the resort is undergoing an expansion, some of the timeshare units have been closed for renovations. Due to the increasing demand for Aulani timeshare weeks, this is a great move on DVC’s part.

For buyers looking to purchase a DVC package at Aulani on the resale market, this is great news. Now you will not have to wait until next year to book your first week. This can also be a great opportunity for DVC members currently on a waitlist for a timeshare unit.

Disney describes a “Standard View” hotel room as a studio unit that features a view of the parking lot or parking garage. The room includes two queen sized beds and sleeps up to four people. While these units do not have the fabulous ocean view, you’ll have more options and you may save a few points.

Rent Your DVC Timeshare

For those owners looking to rent out this year’s week, this is a great opportunity. Many travelers are interested in visiting one of DVC newest locations. With such outstanding rates available for the standard units, you may have the chance to reserve a timeshare rental at Aulani and still have enough points left to book your own vacation.
Travelers will also benefit from these DVC timeshare rentals as they are usually a better value than renting directly from the resort.
