Twenty hotels operated by privately-held HEI Hotels & Resorts were hit by a data breach earlier this year, possibly exposing guests’ credit card data. The Marriott Vacation Club has announced a partnership with Children’s Miracle Network to raise money for local children’s hospitals. Through this partnership, Marriott plans to offer guests the opportunity to purchase an upgraded room key, in the form of a RFID wristband, in exchange for a donation.

Marriott Vacation Club has worked with Children’s Miracle Network and their hospitals since 1983 and has raised millions of dollars for charity over the years. Children’s Miracle Network raises funds for 170 hospitals across North America. In addition, they promote awareness for children’s hospitals and share the stories of the children they have helped.
