Grupo Vidanta To Host 2018 Platinum Awards

Grupo Vidanta, the developer of Mexico’s extremely popular Vidanta resorts, will sponsor next year’s Platinum Awards honoring the best talent and professionals in the Ibero-American film industry. Next year will mark the fifth anniversary of the awards, with the ceremony to be held at the developer’s Riviera Maya property.

2018 will be the first year the awards are hosted in Mexico, with previous years’ ceremonies being held in Panama, Spain, and Uruguay. The awards honor excellence and outstanding performances in the Ibero-American film industry, focusing on actors, directors, and films from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain and Portugal. Grupo Vidanta chose to sponsor the 5th annual awards to continue its commitment to supporting the local arts and entertainment industries.

At the event’s 2017 ceremony held on July 22nd in Madrid, pop musician and actor Miguel Bosé called upon Mexico native Diego Boneta to announce the location for 2018’s gala.
