ARDA Honors RCI Timeshare with Seven Awards

RCI timeshare exchange, one of the two largest timeshare exchange companies in the world, has received the ACE Philanthropic Award from the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) as well as six other awards in the advertising and promotion categories.

The ACE Philanthropic award was give in recognition of RCI’s work with Christel House Fundraising efforts and education. Geoff Ballotti, CEO, RCI was quoted by The Resort Trades as saying, “RCI prides itself on having the most talented and passionate associates in the industry who are committed to delivering great service to our valued affiliates and vacation experiences to our 3.8 million members worldwide. RCI’s award recipients all demonstrate a commitment to our ‘Count on Me!’ service culture for our members and affiliates and it’s a great honor to see so many of them recognized by our colleagues throughout the industry.”

Each year the ARDA Circle of Excellence (ACE) honors specific individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to the betterment of the industry as a whole or have attained the highest level of excellence in their fields. The awards were presented at the American Resort Development Association 2010 Gala Ceremony and Dinner, during the 2010 ARDA Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hyatt Vacation Club Expands Miami Timeshare Opportunities

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of Hyatt Miami at The Blue. “The Blue” of course, refers to Doral’s most famous golf course, The Big Blue Monster, the nearby deep blue water of the Atlantic Ocean, and the endless blue skies of Miami weather. The17-acre property is also conveniently near the Miami International Airport meaning that your Miami vacation begins almost as soon as you step off the plane.

The resort includes 15 three-story villas, each housing 16 hotel suites. The suites range from 700 square foot studios, to one-bedroom units, and two-story, three bedroom units which are just over 2000 square feet each. All of the units include a terrace with a golf view, fully equipped kitchens, and relaxing rain showers in the marble baths.

ING Clarion Development Ventures II owns the hotel and Davidson Hotel Company is the hotel’s operator. The resort will fly the Hyatt flag.

Chuck Floyd, chief operating officer, North America, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, says, “We are thrilled to add Hyatt Miami at The Blue to our robust portfolio of hotels in the Southeast. The location and quality of the hotel will no doubt appeal to both group and leisure travelers.”

The Hyatt Miami at The Blue will offer condo hotel residences. Owners of condo hotel units there will be eligible to participate in the Hyatt Vacation Club, with timeshare exchange at fifteen Hyatt Vacation and Residence Clubs or at any of the timeshare resorts within the Interval International timeshare exchange program, which includes over 2200 timeshares worldwide.

Hilton Timeshare Adding to their Hawaii Timeshare Resorts

Hilton timeshare has been so successful at the Hilton Grand Waikikian Tower that the timeshare company has announced that its planned two-tower expansion with 550 rooms at the Hilton Hawaiian Village will be entirely devoted to timeshare.

The Hilton Grand Waikikian Tower timeshare was completed in 2008 and currently provides timeshare units for the 22-acre Hilton Hawaiian Village. Ted Middleton, Hilton’s Senior vice president of development in the Americas, sees the addition of new timeshares at the popular resort as a very good business move, saying, “This expansion will give us enough product to sell well into the next decade. It’s very important to have new inventory to dovetail into the growing demand.”

The first of the two Hilton Hawaii Grand Waikikian timeshare towers will be 37 stories and include 300 timeshare units. Construction will begin in 2013 and is expected to be completed in 2015. The second timeshare tower will be 25 stories and 250 timeshare units. This second tower will be built on the site of the current Rainbow Bazaar shopping area and will be adjacent to the resort’s parking garage. Included as part of the development will be additional swimming pools and a retail space. When complete, the new Hawaii timeshare resort will bring some 700 new jobs to the area and an undetermined number of construction jobs.
