Four Marriott Vacation Club Timeshares Earn FL Green Lodging Designation
Friday, March 12, 2010
Congratulations to Marriott Vacation Club, where four favorite Florida timeshares have just gained the Florida Green Lodging Designation from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
- Marriott’s Ocean Pointe Timeshare, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida
- Marriott’s Harbour Lake Timeshare, Orlando, Florida
- Marriott’s Oceana Palms Timeshare, Singer Island, Florida
- Marriott’s BeachPlace Towers Timeshare, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
The Florida Green Lodging Program is a voluntary program that Florida timeshare resorts and hotels can choose to participate in by utilizing environmentally green practices to conserve natural resources and reduce waste. Established by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the Florida Green Lodging Program offers free technical assistance and encouragement in helping the resorts function in ways that better conserve water and energy, reduce waste, and increase recycling.
Despite the challenges of a stay-at-home-vacation mentality, these four Florida timeshare resorts have had an average occupancy rate of 94 percent in 2009, collectively hosting some 482,000 timeshare owners and guests.
