Disney Timeshare Vacation this Holiday Season, As Sweet as a Giant Chocolate Santa Claus

If your Disney timeshare vacation plans include a visit this holiday season to any of their Orlando resorts, you may want to spend a little time viewing Disney’s newest take on Santa … all 1200 pounds of him!

Crafted from chocolate and cocoa butter, the life-size chocolate Santa is on display at The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel, an Epcot Resort property, and can be enjoyed throughout this holiday season.

The hotel’s executive pastry chef, Laurent Branlard, a two-time world champion chef, is renowned for his intricate sugar sculptures and chocolate work. He considers this Santa scene, complete with chocolate Christmas tree and chocolate fireplace, to be his most difficult work, to date. It is definitely his largest.

Creating the chocolate Christmas vignette and the giant Santa required some 300 hours of skillful labor. The scene incorporates 880 pounds of dark chocolate; 132 pounds of milk chocolate; 154 pounds of white chocolate and 120 pounds of cocoa butter. All of which adds up to 2,956,818 calories, which means you might not mind that the display is for viewing only, not for sampling.
