Airport Surprises During Your Holiday Travel or Timeshare Vacation
Thursday, December 15, 2011
Last week, The Timeshare Authority blog shared with you the surprise that awaits some travelers who try to pass through airport security while wearing a festive, metallic-trimmed holiday sweater. When this happens, there are the delays that come with waiting in line and typically a hand search by Santa’s elves posing as TSA representatives.
And holiday sweaters aren’t the only incidental that can slow down your progress toward your holiday destination or favorite timeshare. Several other atypical security checkpoint surprises often catch holiday travelers unaware.
Holiday Airport Surprises for Travelers and Timeshare Vacationers
- Everyone loves a snow globe… but do not attempt to pass through an airport security checkpoint with one. Because snow globes contain undetermined amounts of liquid, they will be rejected as a carry-on. Snow globes are only permitted in your checked baggage.
- Everyone loves pie! And you can actually pass through security checkpoints carrying your favorite pie. But you cannot take other food items typically associated with the holidays, including cranberry sauce, dips, jams, jellies, syrups, vinegars, salsa, sauces, soups, wine, liquor or beer.
- Don’t let TSA unwrap your Christmas presents… A wrapped present may get through security but then again, it may not. Travelers often have to peel away the paper and bows on packages to get past airport security with their holiday presents.
If you are headed to your favorite timeshare for the holidays, expect delays; delays are part of seasonal travel. But make your travel a little easier by planning ahead and strategizing how you will avoid airport delays. Make a list and check it twice because sometimes those TSA security officers can be more naughty than nice.
