Mount Prospect hotel management company and Bricton Group joined together to purchase Marriott Lincolnshire Resort for $20 million and have plans for a $22 million renovation. The renovation will include a total rehab of the 389-rooms, common areas, meeting space, theater, and most likely the hotel’s restaurant, King’s Wharf.

Bricton Group will manage the Marriott and its renovations. The resort spans 175-acres, includes an 18-hole golf course, 902-seat theater and 40,000 square feet of meeting space.

Bricton President Edward Doherty actually worked at the hotel as a busboy early on in his career and had this to say about the acquisition and renovation,

“We’re going to take an asset that has been well-run and take it to the next level. This is not a turnaround situation,” Doherty said. “It’s an enhancement situation.”
