Just announced, Marriott Vacation Club closed on the purchase of the hotel portion of Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa in Queensland, Australia. The 216 rooms and resort amenities were sold to Bensonlily Surfers Paradise Pty Ltd for $50 million USD.

China’s newest vacation club, Shanghai Xihong Vacation Club, has just affiliated with the timeshare exchange company Interval International. With one resort located in the northeastern resort town of Yantai, Shanghai Xihong offers 24 two-bedroom units in a Best Western mixed-use property that combines hotel rooms with vacation ownership units and commercial office space. After years of postponements, Marriott’s Crystal Shores resort will complete its renovations and addition of two new towers. The Marco Island, Florida property plans to offer 148 new units at the resort by fall of 2017. The new accommodations will be complemented by a new tiered swimming pool as well, with views of the beach and Gulf of Mexico directly behind. [Read more…]
