The Fort Myer’s-based Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina has officially received “Best Stress-Free Family Holiday” from the Amadeus Travel Experience Awards in London. The awards ceremony, hosted by World Travel Market (WTM) presented this award for the first time, with the help of the Lee County VCB (Visitor & Convention Bureau).
World Travel Market is an annual exhibition for the travel and tourism industry. This year the WTM was held in London’s Exhibition and Convention Center to an impressive crowd. Over 48,000 travel and timeshare industry professionals, media representatives, and industry-related politicians attended the exhibition.
Director of Sales and Marketing for the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina, Ellis Etter said, “This recognition is a testament of how well our associates deliver on a consistent basis the best possible experience for our guests. We are delighted our guests keep coming back to stay with us when visiting our pristine beaches of Southwest Florida!”
This is great news for the resort as traveling families are a large segment of the travel industry, especially in Florida. According to the U.S. Travel Association’s Travel Facts and Statistics, last year 26% of domestic travelers vacationed with children under the age of 18.
