Bluegreen Vacations announced that it has become the “Official Vacation Ownership Provider” for Choice Hotels International. Yesterday, the Boca Raton, Florida based Bluegreen Corporation announced that its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Bluegreen Vacations and Bluegreen Resorts Management, Inc, have entered into multi-year, strategic alliance agreements with Choice Hotels International, Inc.

The move positions Bluegreen Vacations (Bluegreen timeshare) as the “Official Vacation Ownership Provider of Choice Hotels.” Choice Hotels currently franchises approximately 6,200 hotels in the United States and more than 30 countries and territories.

Both Bluegreen Vacations and Choice Hotels will be able to expand their brands and customer relationships through this association. The 21 Bluegreen Vacation Club timeshare properties will become part of the Choice Hotels Ascend Collection, which is already defined by its historic, boutique, and unique hotels. All Bluegreen timeshare owners will be eligible to take advantage of discount rates at the 6200 Choice hotels, worldwide. Additionally the new partnering means that select components of the Choice Hotels loyalty program, (Choice Privileges®) will combine with TravelerPlus™, the current Bluegreen travel benefits program.

Bluegreen timeshare President and CEO John M. Maloney, Jr. said. “While we certainly believe that we will benefit from the marketing opportunities, we are also excited by the other aspects of our alliance with Choice Hotels. We expect that this arrangement will add value for our current owners and will be very attractive to prospective owners based on the credibility of the Choice Hotel brands and the appeal of our expanded product offerings.”
