An Update on Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

An Update on Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

Disney's Polynesian Villas & BungalowsThe Disney Vacation Club is making progress on their latest DVC resort, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. This week, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has officially granted Disney Vacation Development permission to begin selling at the resort.

The DVC section of the Polynesian Resort will include 20 new water-front bungalows in addition to villas in the Tahiti, Tokelau, and Rapa Nui buildings. From these buildings, Disney has converted 362 hotel rooms into an estimated 162 timeshare villas. 76 villas came from the Rapa Nui building, 142 from the Tahiti building, and 144 from the Tokelau. These numbers will be finalized once Disney actually begins selling points packages.

With this estimation, the resort will offer an estimated total of 8,262 timeshare weeks. This will be one of the biggest vacation club offerings that a Disney resort has provided. Typically, Disney only offers one timeshare unit per every three hotel units. Disney may adjust these numbers as they begin selling, just like they did with the Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. In their 2008 application to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, DVC only listed a portion of the timeshare units available at the Bay Lake Tower then increased the number of weeks available.

It may still be a while until travelers can actually purchase DVC points at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Disney is still making renovations to the Nanea Volcano Pool, the Polynesian’s Great Ceremonial house, and additional amenities. Expected completion date for these projects is sometime in 2015.

If you’re looking to buy DVC points now, you’ll need to purchase them through another DVC resort or through a timeshare resale. SellMyTimeshareNow.com offers a great discount on DVC timeshares, and you can apply your points to the Polynesian Villas once they are open for reservations.

For current DVC members, there’s no word yet on point charts for the Polynesian Villas. Stay tuned to TheTimeshareAuthority.com for more updates on this resort.
