HICV Give Kids the World Ice Cream Social

Holiday Inn Club Vacations Hosts GKTW Ice Cream Social

Last week, Holiday Inn Club Vacations (HICV) at Orange Lake Resort hosted an ice cream social for the Give Kids the World Village. Holiday Inn Club Vacations has a great relationship with Give Kids the World (GKTW) and donates to the charity on an annual basis.

This event raised money for the Ice Cream for Breakfast program, a grass-roots fundraising campaign. The fundraiser was created by a wish family who remembers their experience at the GKTW Village by eating ice cream for breakfast on the anniversary of their trip. Through the fundraiser, GKTW encourages individuals and corporations to host socials to benefit the village. [Read more…]

Marriott Hosts Golf Tournament for Children’s Miracle Network

Marriott Hosts Golf Tournament for Children’s Miracle Network

At the end of last month, Marriott hosted their 17th Annual Caring Classic charity golf event. This year Marriott raised a record-breaking $200,000 for Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

This year’s tournament was hosted at Marriott’s Grande Pines Golf Club. Marriott and their affiliated sponsors came out in full force. In the tournament, 156 participants played from 93 Marriott Vacations Worldwide partner companies. Marriott Vacations Worldwide also had over 80 volunteers to provide assistance to players and guests. Marriott was happy to provide hospitality services on the green for a true luxury golf experience.

President and CEO Stephen P. Weisz shared,

“I couldn’t be more proud of this exceptional milestone and am truly appreciative of the support of those business partners from around the country whose generosity made this event such a great success. Our company and associates have been giving back to our local communities for more than 30 years through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This commitment continues to help make a difference in the lives of so many of Central Florida’s children.”

Since the tournament was created in 1997, Marriott has raised nearly $2 million for local charities. In addition to the Children’s Miracle Network, Marriott has also raised money for Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, and UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.

The $200,000 net donation is just a small piece of Marriott’s commitment to local charities. The vacation group is currently working to expand The Alexander Center for Neonatology at the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. Through the new Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising, Marriott committed to raise $1 million. To thank Marriott for their contributions, a portion of the expansion will be named the “Marriott Vacation Worldwide NICU-wing”.
