Marriott International,Inc. expects their portfolio to reach one million rooms, either open or in development, by the end of 2015. This portfolio includes the Marriott Hotels, affiliated brands, and the Marriott Vacation Club.

Not only will the increased availability of Marriott rooms expand travel options, but it will also boost the economy. The company shares that once the newly developed resorts are open, they will create an additional 150,000 jobs and more than $50 billion in real estate investment. [Read more…]

New Resort Brands for Millennials

As the timeshare and hotel industries continue to expand, resorts are focusing on a younger demographic — Millennials.

Recent studies have shown that the average timeshare buyer is younger and more tech savvy than in the past. Resorts are responding by making an effort to attract this target market.

Marriott is one of the first hospitality groups to focus on the younger generation. Their newest resort, the AC Hotel New Orleans Bourbon was built with the intention of attracting Millennials. The new 220-guest room hotel is the first in a series of 100 resorts Marriott plans to open in the U.S. over the next year.
