According to Orbitz’s annual Insider Index, summer vacation plans are on the rise this year. The Orbitz survey of nearly 1000 US vacationers reveals that among those responding, 77 percent are definitely taking a vacation in 2012. And of those vacationing, many travelers are allotting more money to their travel budget, with 53 percent of consumers planning to spend more than $1,500 on summer vacations as compared to 39 percent in 2011. Fifty-six percent of travelers are planning to vacation by car while 39 percent will include air travel in their vacation planning.

Although glittering Las Vegas ranks tops on the vacation destination list with New York City ranking second and Orlando a close third, not everyone who heads to Las Vegas goes for the nightlife and the Vegas Strip. Las Vegas vacations  and spacious Las Vegas timeshares are a top family destination, with many family-friendly shows and attractions, great golf, and extraordinary outdoor escapes. The Red Rock National Conservation Area, also known as Red Rock Canyon, is less than 20 miles outside the city to the west, and affords spectacular scenery and endless opportunities for outdoor fun.

Known for its striking red rock formations and natural canyons, Red Rock National Conservation Areas is surrounded by nearly 200,000 acres of land and includes more than 30 miles of hiking trails, picnic spots, and scenic rest stops along a 13-mile picturesque route. Although hiking, biking, and jeep tours are all popular ways to explore the area, one of the biggest draws in outdoor activities at Red Rocks is horseback riding.

Interval International Timeshare Destinations

Interval HD videos currently include Interval International resort destinations in Cancun, Orlando, and Las Vegas—some of timeshare’s most popular vacation venues. Each video is one to three minutes in length and is available through the Interval International member landing page of Interval’s website. Members can choose the destination overviews the wish to see or view the Resort Directory for an overview. By year end, Interval International timeshare exchange plans to have added at least an additional 30 videos to the collection.

Interval’s Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing, Sharon Freed, explains, “We’ve created this enhanced content to assist our members in making vacation plans when using any of our programs. But we also feel it will help resort clients using multimedia presentations at their sales tables to bring to life the benefits of exchanging to a broad range of locations.”

As Interval understands, “When making their vacation plans, Interval members want as much information about the resort and destination as they can find.” And why not? Vacation time is precious and hard to come by for most busy families.

Wednesday. Jason Tremblay will be part of a forum discussing: “Resales:  the White Elephant in the Room.” This forum will also include Leigh Anne Niemen of Disney Vacation Club, Jay C Finley of the Compass Resort Group and moderator Robert J Webb Esq., RRP of Baker & Hostetler LLP.

Thursday. Jason and other thought leaders from the industry will take an in-depth look at “Resale–Making it Work for You.” This  session deals with one of the most important issues facing the industry today.

Big Change at PH Towers Timeshare

It’s official, the former Planet Hollywood Towers by Westgate (known as PH Towers timeshare) has been renamed Elara, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club.

Last week, Hilton Worldwide announced that the new name of the former PH Towers Westgate timeshare resort is “Elara, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club.”

In November 2011, the property was sold, and its new owner, LV Tower 52 LLC, hired Hilton Grand Vacations to rebrand the resort and provide future timeshare sales and marketing services. The 52-story Las Vegas timeshare resort currently has more than 17,000 vacation interval timeshare owners.

Four Hilton Grand Vacations Club Resorts in Las Vegas

Located on the center section of the famous “Las Vegas Strip,”  The Elara now becomes the fourth Hilton Grand Vacations Club in Las Vegas, and as explained in the Las Vegas Sun, provides more than 48,000 Hilton Grand Vacations Club members with a “home resort” in Las Vegas. Adjacent to the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino complex, the Elara offers easy access to the more than 170 shops and restaurants along the Miracle Mile.

If you become a vacation property owner at the Elara, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club, not only will you be adjacent to some of the best dining and entertainment opportunities in Vegas, but you will become the new next-door neighbor to singer and entertainer CeeLo Green. This week, Green announced that he is bringing his show, “Cee Lo Green Presents LOBERACE” to the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, where it will become a headliner show, while the resort  will become CeeLo’s official Las Vegas residence.
